Near Abuja, the bustling capital of Nigeria,  you will find 3 IDP camps: New Kuchingoro, Durumi, and Wassa, where Africa Arise has engaged to serve the children of these camps with life giving ministry.

The UN defines “Internally Displaced Persons, ” as persons or groups of persons who have been forced or obliged to flee or to leave their homes or places of habitual residence, in particular as a result of or in order to avoid the effects of armed conflict, situations of generalized violence, violations of human rights or natural or human-made disasters, and who have not crossed an internationally recognized state border.”  This describes the why of the families and children who live within the camps.  It is a situation they did not provoke or desire, other than to choose the Christian faith, or not agree with extreme Muslim laws and practices.

“Boko Haram soldiers were responsible for these atrocities. Over 2,000,000 people have be displaced and 200,000+ children murdered.”

They are cut off from their past, with their loved ones killed, and their property and possessions confiscated.  The camps are thrown together with scraps and tarps to provide covering, but they have no resources to assist them with revisioning their future.  They have no plumbing, electricity, adequate food, or medical support.  The government has abandoned them and as the years cycle through, the families continue to do what they can to survive.  What they want most is a future for their children.  Africa Arise is there to meet that need.

“Boko Haram translates “Western Education Is Forbidden”. It is in this struggling, forgotten culture that Africa Arise is planting a seed of greatness for future generations of Nigerians.”

GIVE TODAY

The children and families we serve in Nigeria with your prayerful monetary gifts have many needs. Africa Arise will be focusing first on gifts that equip the schools.  That need grows daily, but there are other crucial needs.  We want to partner with organizations or individuals for water wells, food distribution,  solutions for consistent electricity, construction projects, and basic technology needs.  We have a 10+ year footprint in this work. Join us! Together, we can make a difference.
