Dr. Samuel Anurigwo, PhD
Distinguished former Permanent Secretary of the Government of Imo State, and General Manager/Director of the Environmental Protection Agency of Imo State.
An elite scholar and respected interational leader, Dr. Sam was educated in London, Aberdeen and Tokyo. He served as Chair of the National Steering Committee for Environmental Protection Agencies of the 36 States and the Federal Capitol Territory, Federal Republic of Nigeria, from 1996-2001. On the International scene, he was UNESCO Consultant to East Africa and conducted the capacity upgrade Program for Environmental Scientists in the East African Countries of Somalia, Kenya, Tanzania, Mozambique, Madagascar, Seychelles and Re-Union at the University of Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania.Boko Haram, literally means “western education is forbidden.”
Dr. Sam is a Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria, Fellow of the Institute of Business Executives, and Fellow of the British Society of Commerce. He is member of the Nigerian Environmental Society, and chaired the Imo/Abia States Chapter 1991-2003. He is also member of Institute of Water and Environmental Management, London.
Dr. Sam was sworn in a Justice of the Peace. He earned the Distinguished Service Award, Institute of Corporate Administration in 1997, the Award of Distinction in Corporate Management 2000. He received the 2005 International Peace Price, by the Universal Cultural Convention sitting in the United States of America, and was later appointed Ambassador For Peace, by the Universal Peace Federation, (with Special Consultative Status at the United Nations Economic and Social Council).
Dr. Sam has authored over 39 publications in Journals, UN Mission Reports, Book contributions, public lectures and seminars, covering the Sectors of Water, Environment, Industry, Democracy and Governance, Administration and Management, Poverty Alleviation, Peace and Conflict Resolution, Women and Youth Empowerment, etc. He has also published poetry and other literary works.
Since 2011, he was appointed the Country Director (NIGERIA), American Institute for International Policy Makers and Public Administrators, through which he mentors top public officials, and has been recognized by the White House as an recommended liaison for American companies seeking to do business in Nigeria.
A passionate and humble soul-winner for Christ, Dr. Sam labord for decades alongside his dear brother Prof. John Ofoegbu to grow their Unity for Africa and International Coalition of Reconcilers ministries, which were instrumental in sparking the long-running Christian revival that has burned across Africa.
